Champagne Lallier, here’s the new lot for Michele Chiarlo Wine Club

Champagne Lallier, here’s the new lot for Michele Chiarlo Wine Club

For the last few years, Michele Chiarlo and Champagne Lallier share a mission of excellence: to share “the art of drinking well”, just like how this French maison’s claim goes, through a process of selection and wine making of the best lands available. This must be done according to a specific philosophy: quality is the result of choices made without compromises.

Michele Chiarlo and Francis Tribaut, Lallier’s owner since 2004, have a lot in common: they are both “brave wine captains”, men who have given their lives to their vineyards, who have poured all their knowledge in order to increase the standards of their respective flagship wines – the Barbera d’Asti and the Champagne.

For the first time, Michele Chiarlo Wine Club offers a set of two bottles from another wine house, of which Michele Chiarlo is the exclusive importer in Italy. Two prominent bottles from the Lallier collection, specifically:

  • A bottle of “Grand Rosé”

A rosé champagne made with grapes from Grand Cru parcels (Grands Crus d’Aÿ, Verzenay, Oger and Cramant), selected for their low yield during harvest period. Its color is achieved through a maceration technique called “millefeuille”, which consists in alternating layers of white and black grapes in the tanks, extracting the color without the extraction of tannins.

  • A bottle of “R.015”

The “R.015” series is the result of a deep reflection of a specific vintage, that of 2015, a radiant harvest, of greatly profound harmony. A blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (39% and 61% respectively), R.015 is the champagne

The Maison Lallier

The first Lallier labels date back to 1906, when René Lallier (1861-1938), who had been married to the heiress of an important Champenois family, founded the Champagne house. Since then, the family has been deeply rooted in the village of Aÿ, where viticulture dates back to the arrival of the Romans, 1700 years ago, a practice that was made well-known in all of France by King Henry IV, “Lord of Aÿ and of good wine”. In 1936, Aÿ was one of the 17 villages classified as “Grand Cru” in Champagne, an evident demonstration of the quality of the grapes grown on its famous hillside and of the outstanding wines they produce. Today, the maison, lead by Francis Tribaut, is certainly one of the most prestigious in the area. This is not only due to the excellent wines or the historical importance of the crus they cultivate, but also thanks to the constant and brilliant efforts of its owner, who continuously work towards innovation in the vineyards and in the winery, without fear of breaking rules and norms. There is a constant idea which guides his work: the art of drinking well must be shared with style and elegance.
